Our History
Ozark Bank was established in 1906 as Ozark Savings Bank by 15 local investors. The bank opened with $10,000 in stock, five Directors, and a staff of four employees.
These historic pictures are authentic, original photos from Ozark Bank's archives. Today, third generation family members of some of the original investors continue the traditions of a home-owned, independent community bank.
The original banking facility was opened on the East side of the Ozark public square and for a short time was temporarily relocated to the North side of the square. Today, our main banking facility encompasses the original site and, in response to our growing community, has been remodeled and/or expanded six times.
In 1937, authority was granted to omit the word "Savings" from our name simplifying it to Ozark Bank. At the same time, capital stock was increased to $25,000. In 1970, Ozark Bank built its first drive-through facility located on West Jackson Street and in l989, expanded again with a new facility at the intersection of Highways 65 and CC between Ozark and Springfield. By 1991, Ozark Bank had opened the doors of another new facility in Nixa, Missouri. Accidental fire destroyed the Hwy CC/65 facility in March of 2002 which has been replaced by a new facility nearby at the corner of Highways NN and J in northern Ozark.
