MISSOURI BANKING FOR OVER 125 YEARS
In 1874 Joseph Huston, Jr. (great grandfather of the present Chairman) and William Wood sold their trading and transportation business in Arrow Rock, Missouri (a prosperous Missouri river trading town). They moved 15 miles west establishing a Banking House in the small town of Marshall. Marshall later became the county seat and the largest town and trading center in Saline County. The bank is still under the same primary ownership.
Wood & Huston Bank reached into other communities in Missouri by establishing charters for banks in Cape Girardeau and West Plains, and a branch in Springfield. In 1998, we consolidated all the charters into one for operational efficiency and better product delivery. Each facility location has retained authority in loan and deposit decisions with its customers. The consolidation also resulted in a single, old line Missouri bank name of Wood & Huston Bank for each branch facility.
THE FOCUS
Personal service has been a legacy passed from generation to generation to the communities Wood & Huston Bank serves. As a community member, we continue to serve in civic leadership and philanthropic capacities. As a community bank, we continue to provide financial services in a manner consistent with the demands of our customers. Technology is driving much of the new product delivery systems and we are still keeping up as we have for 125 years. ATMs, electronic bookkeeper, web site, e-mail, and now internet banking are the means that we provide the changing array of financial products to our customers.
